Folklore class today was fun. We had to get in to our small groups, mine being “Narratives” (I’m doing my final project on ‘Infections & Invasions in Film’). Now, being the socially inept person that I am, I always find a way to relate people through film references. This lead to a very interesting discussion.

We found out early on that the 4 of us were english majors (aka The Cool Ones). One of us had some interesting tidbits on that. She explained to us that she just had a professor that said something along the lines of this- “All english majors, after watching a movie, want to talk about it after.” I was like, “Oh my god! That is so true!” None of my friends like to talk about it with me, but then again, they’re not english majors. I always flashback to the scene in True Romance, where after a grindhouse feature, Christian Slater and Patricia Arquette talk about it whilst eating pie (and then they fall in love!).
Another interesting thing that her professor said, that actually kind of scared her, was, “All english majors marry other english majors.” She said immediately after hearing this, she looked around the classroom and started feeling sad for herself.
