The most recent “Jake and Amir” episode may also be one of their funniest. It was one of those “MIt reminds me of those great X-Files episodes (e.g. “The Host”) that could not only be watched in context of the larger series, but breezily enjoyed as an ass-kicking, stand-alone piece of entertainment. There’s also a genius silent film quality to it. Suck it, “Sprinkler Sprinkled!”
Sneaky
My favorite X-Files episode is a one-shot, “Hungry” (more accurately described as a “Monster Of the Week”). It was the first time I ever watched something and felt sorry for the monster (even if he was eating people’s brains). Seriously, 1999 wasn’t that long ago, but back then there weren’t many instances of movies (or TV shows) that had that kind of ending. The most prevalent of recent years, that comes to mind, was The Devil’s Rejects and still, I snapped out of it once “Freebird” stopped playing. Can’t feel sorry those guys that long. At least Shark-Boy wanted to change (kind of).
Back to the “Jake and Amir” video. I like it! Although, I am a little grossed out with myself. I never thought I’d see something from that exact perspective before… i.e. between Jake’s legs. haha
